About Uz
Uz Utilidades is a Brazilian brand in the houseware market that meets consumer needs with functionality and aesthetics. They provide quality products for all parts of the house, so your home is always organized and colorful.
My role
As a freelancer, I've participated in the development process, 3D modeling, and rendering of many products currently in the Brazilian market.
As an intern, I collaborated with the design team for mood boards, research, and ideation. I was responsible for 3D modeling the chosen alternatives and sending them to the head of design.
Detergent Container, Basins & Buckets
The bucket's design was tricky since its shape enables a higher capacity despite being smaller than the competitors. The design team had to make sure this was not perceived wrong by the final consumer. The briefing for the other products of the line was straightforward.
Fruit Basket
The technical requirements of this product were complicated despite the simple forms of the basket. The feedback of the design team was essential for success of the project.
Dish Rack Slim
Renewed design of the old model, this dish rack was developed to keep in place when loaded. Its shape was intended for stability and practicality.
Dish Soap Dispenser Slim
Re-design of the older model, this dispenser was intended for more stability. The rectangular shape also contributes to better fit in transport.
Organizers - Refrigerator and Drawer
Set of organizers for the new collection. They required the same cubic pattern used before. Overall a simple project in that I was able to participate.
Toothbrush Case
The toothbrush case turned out to be an easier said than done project despite the direct briefing. The surface of the case required a fine-tuning in its changing direction faces.
Cake/Bread Container
A trend among the popular houseware, the “Bico de Jaca” returned for the 2019 collection. This bread container was very demanding, but overall I was happy with the result.
Cutlery Tray - Expandable and with lid
The challenge for this project was that it needed different configurations for the same product, one lid to keep it well closed and the other to serve as an extension.
Food Containers
Set of food containers that nest together for easy transport and storage. In 2021 a produce saver was designed for the larger container.
Food Storage Containers
In this project, the client asked for an organic shape product that could nest together for transport and storage.
Dish soap dispenser
The focus of the briefing was to make the soap dispenser easier to use and to have a different aesthetic from the previous model. The one-touch pump system idea was one of my suggestions that was really appreciated.
